Patrick Grady
Patrick Grady - President
Patrick Grady is a Senior currently serving as the president of DEV. His role on the team is motivated by his desire to preserve the planet and promote a new generation of efficient vehicles, but also enjoys the engineering challenge presented by the Eco-Marathon. He helped design and implement the 2015 and 2016 motor controller and BMS, but currently works on the aerodynamics and mechanical teams. His goal is to one day work on the design team of a Formula-E team.
Catherine Farmer
Catherine Farmer is a junior studying mechanical engineering and energy engineering. She joined the DEV team in the fall of her sophomore year, and has loved being able to combine her interest in sustainability with her passion for engineering design as a member of the team. Outside of engineering, Catherine enjoys dance, photography, and hiking.
Ismail Iberkak
Major: Mechanical Engineering and Environmental Engineering
Ismail's passions lie in designing effortless user experiences that improve lives. Born in Morocco, he also values the expansion of transformative technologies to emerging markets around the globe. When not working, Ismail enjoys sketching, learning languages, visiting art exhibits, and playing soccer.
Kris Elbert
Kris is an electrical and computer engineer and computer science double major who is excited to not only build the most efficient vehicle but figure out the best strategy to drive it. She loves the real-world knowledge and application she gains working on the electrical side. When she's not in the garage, she's 3D modelling, 3D printing, or playing in the marching band...in 3D.
Shomik Verma
Shomik is a sophomore studying Mechanical Engineering. He is interested in engineering solutions to energy and environment problems facing us today. By developing practical, cost-effective, and efficient solutions, Shomik hopes to facilitate the energy transition and improve our energy outlook for the future.
Steven Burcat

Steven enjoys working on the mechanical components of the car, from the body to the brakes and seat belts. He wants to do what he can to help create a sustainable future through technology such as this car. His favorite part of working with DEV is being able to machine the parts he designs in Solidworks and see them used on the car.

Noah loves working as part of the team, learning skills like SolidWorks and machining in order to contribute to the construction of the car. He is driven by the vision of a sustainable future and enjoys working with the club as a practical step towards that goal. In his free time he enjoys swimming, running, dancing, going on hikes, trying new foods, and playing saxophone and piano.

Caroline Ayanian is striving towards an engineering degree. In this endeavor, she has aided the team in various mechanical aspects of the project, in addition to being the most talented reserve driver who has never driven. Throughout the remaining time leading up to the competition, she hopes to aid in the testing of the vehicle, continued design, and production to secure the first place finish in 2015 Eco-Marathon.
Hayden Hall-
Hayden Hall is from Paradise Valley, Arizona studying computer science and mathematics. His role on DEV is motivated by his interest in simulation, aerodynamics, and the utilization of SolidWorks. He also runs ClassRanked.com, an educational technology company.

Aniruddh Marellapudi
Aniruddh Marellapudi - Co-President
Aniruddh is a senior biomedical engineering student with a heavy interest in electric transportation. If not spotted in the basements of Duke's engineering labs debugging circuitry, Aniruddh can be found in the Duke Electric Vehicles lab working on the motor controller and fixing up his electric bike. Aniruddh serves as the Co-President of the DEV, leading the Electronics team, and handling the DEV's administrative tasks.

Charlie Kritzmacher is a motivated engineering student in the Pratt School of Engineering. Fueling his passion for electric vehicles are his dedication to the environment and his love of cars and motorcycles. A true fanatic, he studiously follows the development of electric vehicle technology. Charlie was instrumental in the recent success and publicity surrounding Duke Electric Vehicles. He is now leading the team in the development of a ground-breaking urban concept car.

Cynthia Bai dreams of growing up and making the Iron Man suit, but in reality will probably end up with a 9-5 desk job crunching numbers and analyzing flight data for airplanes and such. Not a bad alternative. In addition to driving the DEV vehicle for competition, Cynthia also works in a lab for developing real-time communication between quadcopters.

Alexandra Monroe is a graduate student who wants the world to know about Duke Electric Vehicles. She applies her experiences with photography and marketing to get the word out to new members, sponsors, and pretty much anyone else who will listen. Her plans for DEV include expanding outreach through social media and heading up a team of photographers to bring to this year's competition. Alexandra has a Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in leadership from the University of Florida and is currently a graduate student in Duke's Master of Arts in Liberal Studies.

Alex Kunycky is now in his third year with the team, Alex is most interested in the mechanical aspects of the car: aerodynamics, motor transmission, and material design and utilization. He also loves to consider the bigger picture of every design decision, and hopes to help the team achieve its first, first-place victory at the 2015 Shell Eco-marathon.

Abraham Ng'Hwani has a broad perspective of engineering, deeply rooted in both his entrepreneurial eyes and his passion to turn his ideas into a legacy. This makes it hard for him to contain his appetite for anything engine-like that could potentially change the world. That's why he fell in love with the DEV car at first sight, and it's been a strong relationship ever since!
He's constantly humbled by the passion and drive that he finds at DEV from his colleagues. Moreover, he enjoys unleashing his potential and work-ethics in making the DEV team successful.

Matt Tiberii is a committed member of the mechanical half of the team. Matt has experience with composites in the aeronautical industry. Matt's knowledge will be a critical component in the construction of our carbon fiber monocoque.
David Miller - Vice President of DEV

David Miller is an integral part of the DEV team. As our only graduate student, he has provided incredible assistance to the electronics side of the team. He designed our first custom motor controller, and improved upon the battery management system. David is currently working on his PhD at the Pratt School of Engineering.

Eli Lichtenberg is a junior at Pratt interested in all areas of engineering. As a major in electrical and computer engineering, he hopes to learn more about the mechanical side of things through his time in DEV and gain experience in the machine shop, while also contributing to the electronics team. Eli recently joined a lab working on organic solar cells and hopes to contribute to a greener, more sustainable future.

Anny is an Alaskan-grown junior ME who hopes to combine her passion for building and designing with her desire to help put eco-friendly innovation at the forefront of everyday technology. Outside of engineering, Anny is a dancer first and a klutz second, enjoys photography and making music, and engages in a public love affair with the world, spurred on by an incredible semester abroad in Australia. This is Anny’s first semester with DEV, and knows it won’t be her last!

Tommy Romano is a well-rounded programmer and engineering student at Duke University. He loves both applying his engineering knowledge, though scientific research and web development, and passing it on to others, though his various teaching assistant positions. If he’s not in the engineering quad, he’s either playing cello in Biddle or enjoying tea in Bella Union. Within Duke Electric Vehicles, Tommy is part of the Battery/Electronics Team and hopes to recruit and train a new set of bright builders as the organization grows.
